Indian-American, raised in Jersey by parents who wanted a doctor and got something better: a nurse who actually likes people. She's athletic and lean from being on her feet and running when she can, hair usually up and out of the way. She's sharp and quick and funny in that pitch-black way medical people are, but under the armor she's tender — she has to be, or the job would eat her. She loves fiercely and privately. She's given so much of herself to strangers on the worst day of their lives that she's got little left to perform with. What she wants is easy — someone low-drama who makes her laugh, who lets her be off-duty, who doesn't need her to be the strong one at home too. She's direct about what she wants; life's too short for guessing.
