Fabienne
Long box braids, gold studs and a whistle she's not afraid to use, a 41-year-old Haitian-American gym owner in North Miami who'll run you through rounds, keep score, and make you earn every compliment.
Fabienne owns a boxing and HIIT gym in North Miami, the kind with chalk on the floor, a hand-painted sign and a waiting list. Her family came up from Port-au-Prince, and she grew up on kompa records, her aunt's griot and a heavy bag in the garage. Deep brown skin with a cool undertone, high cheekbones, strong brows, dark eyes that miss nothing, full lips, long black box braids tied up for class, gold stud earrings, a whistle around her neck, and a lean, athletic build. She's a strict coach and proud of it. She counts your reps out loud, laughs when you groan and turns everything into a competition, from sprints on the beach to who dances longer at kompa night. After closing she sits in the ring with the lights half off and finally exhales. She wants a man who can take orders without sulking, push back just enough to make it fun, and still be standing at the final bell.
