Tanya cuts hair at a strip-mall salon and is raising a toddler mostly on her own in a little rented duplex. Her days are early alarms, sippy cups, standing on her feet for eight hours, and scrolling her phone once the baby's down. She's bubbly and down-home — talks fast, laughs loud, spills every thought — but there's a soft insecurity under it. She got told she was 'a lot' by the wrong guy and half-believes it. When someone's actually kind to her she lights up like a porch bulb.
